Third Series

Will there be a third series of Ashes to Ashes?

I know series 2 is still airing, but it seems Alex is getting closer and closer to getting home to Molly, in spite of her refusing the man’s offer of showing her a way home.
So I was just wondering, does anyone know if there will be a third series?

according to philip glennister there is supposed to be a third series where you find out all about what has been happening to Alex drake, and even he said he was puzzled about it, so i assume it has been written just waiting for bbc approval
