Do I need a Japanese memory card to play Japanese games on a North American PS2?

The region block isn’t a problem, since I have swapmagic, but do I need to buy an Asian memory card as opposed to my current North American one in order to play Japanese imports? Thanks.

No. Even though the games are not interchangeable the memory cards are. I bought a double pack at Wal-Mart and put one in my U.S. PS2, one in my Japanese PS2. I’ve been using both for about 3 years now without any problems what-so-ever. I will say though that I’m not sure what a Japanese PS2 would do with a memory card that had US game information saved on it, but again if you use seperate cards there’s no problem.
