Do you know of a good book/DVD/web site to learn brick masonry skills?

I am looking to learn about building a wall. Specifically, spacing, how much mortar to use, making sure everything is level, how to actually place mortar on the brick, how long to wait to go on to next row while previous work drying
That’s a great idea, and I think that there is (fortunately) plenty of new construction going on around here

been a mason for 37 years but its not something You Can explain on here…for starters a brick (i’m assuming you dont mean block) and a mud joint is 8 in. and you can lay brick all day without waiting between courses (not rows)…you will just have to learn to spread mud and butter your brick by practice…you can go watch it being done but for insurance purposes i dont think anyone is going to let you join in…
